Furthering one's education by returning to school is not a decision made in haste; rather, it requires considerable forethought when assessing the impact of such issues as familial, economic, employment and time frame as they relate to effectively incorporating academic responsibility of obtaining a graduate degree into an already busy schedule. The only way to reach an informed decision is with clear and balanced reflection of all existing concerns and potential problems (child care, reduction in work hours), as well as the intended benefits of attain the degree (better job, greater self-satisfaction), which is achieved by working through the eight primary components of critical thinking.
